RECREATIONAL PROGRAMS
Parents & Tots (ages 2—3) This program is geared for children who are ready to be physically active in a social setting but are not quite ready to work in groups independent from their parents. In this 45 minute class the parent helps the child to follow instructions, and take turns with their peers while the coach facilitates the gymnastics activity.
Twinkling Stars (ages 4—5) and the Shining Stars (ages 5—7) These programs offer sticker incentives to young gymnasts. A sticker is added to the "sticker wall" for every class that the gymnast demonstrates good participation in and follows their coach’s instruction. These programs follow the Fun, Fitness and Fundumentals model of gymnastics set out by Gymnastics Ontario through the Foundations education program for coaches and gymnasts.
Shooting Stars (ages 7 & up) This program follows the CANGYM philosophy of skill development. CANGYM is Canada’s national skills development program for artistic gymnastics. This class culminates in a small gymnastics demonstration for family at the end of the Fall Session and a larger "SHOW" in April. As the system continues to evolve, we no longer give badges in this program
Advanced Recreational (invitation only) This program is for those gymnasts who are older or more experienced, ready to learn more advanced skills and spend a little more time in the gym in a noncompetitive program. This program also culminates in a demonstration at the end of the Fall and Winter Sessions.
